Overview Of Kedarnath

Kedarnath, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations, is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is home to the famous Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and forms an integral part of the sacred Char Dham Yatra. The trekking route offers mesmerizing views of valleys, waterfalls, and the pristine Mandakini River. For those unable to trek, helicopter services, ponies, and palanquins are available.

The best time to visit Kedarnath is between May and October, as the temple remains closed during winter due to heavy snowfall. During this period, the idol of Lord Shiva is moved to Ukhimath, where rituals and prayers continue.
